Jon Kempken, 73, born on August 24, 1942, in Burlington, Wisconsin to parents Bernie and Ruth Kempken met our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, after a brief illness with Lung Cancer. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mickey Kempken (née Iverson) of Palm Desert, Calif.: Three sons, Kurt Kempken and Tom Kempken both of Palm Desert and Dan (Angi) Kempken of Indio, Calif.; two daughters, Kathy Kempken of Palm Desert and Christine Kempken of Oceanside, Calif.; five beloved grandchildren: Marcus, Christopher, Nicole, Jessica and Keira Rose; brother, Michael (Barbara) Kempken of Janesville, Wis.; and cousins: Gene (Ollie) Kempken of Tomahawk, Wis., Susan (Mark) Heckel of Madison, Wis., and Lynn (Paul) Schroeder of Wind Lake, Wis. After graduating Delavan-Darien High School in 1961, Jon enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Paine Field in Everett, Wash. from 1961 - 1964 where they eventually settled, worked and began raising their family. They were members of St. Mary Magdalen Parish for many years before relocating to Palm Desert. His early career with Western Gear at the Everett Waterfront had him traveling the world repairing oil rigs and other heavy duty equipment. As the company changed ownership over the years, he remained dedicated and never left or retired from the company. He was faithful to the end and continued working for the same company, now called Control Flow/Wes Tech for 48 years until his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Ruth Kempken; brother, Paul Kempken, sister-in-law, Karen Kempken; and several nieces and a nephew. He enjoyed hot rod cars, going to NASCAR races and local car shows with his three son's. He was a Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers fan to the end. He was a supportive family man and life partner to his wife, a proud father and a doting grandfather who lived a happy life filled with love and laughter. At his request there will be no services.
