From Joe Neumeier

I meant to do this a long time ago, but you know how things go when you get to be our age. I'm sure the last time I saw and talked to you was 25 years ago at our 15th class reunion. (seems to be a math calculation error here) Mary Ann Seely called over a year ago to confirm my address and information in prepartion for our 50th class reunion. I have the dates on my calendar and have already made flight arrangements.

Attached is the last photo I have of our family together. It was taken in May of 2009 at Lois's (Welch, DDHS Class of 1962) mother's funeral in Delavan. Unfortunately, Lois died 3 months later from a massive heart attack. It's been tough losing your sould mate and best friend after 43 years of marriage, but life moves on. I'm still working, but by choice. I felt I needed something to focus on after Lois's death.

Our daughter, Tonya, lives in Autin, TX and works for a student housing management compnay. Our son, Paul, lives in Brookfield, WI and is an attorney for a firm in Milwaukee. He and his wife, Lynn, have given us 3 beautiful grandchildren. I'm always looking for excuses to go to Wisconsin to see the kids.

Since I am technically challenged when it comes to blogs, Twitter and Facebook, feel free to add any or all of this to the Class of 61 blogsite. You are also welcome to share my e-mail address.

  1. Please forgive a reply from an underclassman but this is such an informative blog I just couldn't resist. I'm from the class of '63 and have reached a point in my life that memories are so very precious! I remember all of you guys, the football games, swim meets, basketball in the gym and all of the FUN!!!!!!! I tell my boys that I wish they could have had the HS experience that I had..So different from now...I'm living in North Carolina but long for the cold Wisconsin winters...We've been here for 26 years but I still consider Delavan home!!!!
Thanks for the great Blog and I'll keep "checking in". I'm on facebook as Jamie Langton Strauch........
